It's nice to hear that even those who've sold their books can still get rejection letters. I've always found that perseverance pays off.

And yes, we all have to remember than everything is subjective. The trick is to find someone (agent, editor, publisher) whose subjectivity matches your own. It's all downhill from there on!

And how do you find this soulmate subjectivity? Right! Keep trying. If you don't, you'll never find that match, and the world will be poorer by another good book whose author failed to persevere.Bill Clarkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01828998021246511869noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7981315063491687057.post-36895347406108282452007-12-11T09:19:00.000-05:002007-12-11T09:19:00.000-05:00Very nice pep talk. Well, she read it through, but didn't love it "enough" (or so she said). This immediately after someone said my book had two full reads, but in the end the agency didn't love it "enough" to rep it. I try hard not to get bent about rejections - but it was hard to take on MY special day.Celestehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05763211746654246650noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7981315063491687057.post-35176266430779232942007-12-11T09:00:00.000-05:002007-12-11T09:00:00.000-05:00Thanks, Carrie. The problem is whenever I stop, it's so darn hard to ramp back up. I make excuses for why I can't do it today, and put it off until tomorrow, and tomorrow, and the next day. I just need to kick myself in the butt and forge ahead. (After the first of the year, of course.) ;o)

Funny thing happened to me the other day, though. I got a form rejection from an equery I sent at the beginning of October. Shocked the heck out of me. Especially since the agency site says they don't reply unless they're interested. Don't quite know what to make of that. *shrug*B.E. Sandersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04336115135400388268noreply@blogger.com
