Holiday Cheer, brought to you by Amazon and UPS!
I've included a few Christmas images for your viewing pleasure. My family was very generous this year, purchasing lots of stuff off my Amazon wish list. (You, too, may purchase things off my Amazon wish list. Just go to Amazon, enter my name, and click Buy Now! It will ship directly to my door! Thanks! ;-))
As you can see, I got a preorder of Becoming Jane. (Yes, I intentionally folded her out of the picture. James McAvoy. Yum.) I know, I know, lots of folks were not impressed with this fictional account of Jane Austen's life. I say chill, people! It was fictional. It says so right on the back of the DVD.
I also received one of my most-wanted research books. Mastery, Tyranny, and Desire: Thomas Thistlewood and His Slaves in the Anglo-Jamaican World is a book I'd be devouring right now if I weren't blogging. Which reminds me, maybe I'll go do that. I desperately needed to read this to give my current manuscript that extra little something.
Did you get anything this holiday season you really, really wanted? Did you return something horrid for something you really, really wanted? :-) 'Fess up!

Yay Amazon! I love that place! I'm still waiting to exchange gifts from JP and I'm very curious to see what he got me :)
Glad you got so much that you wished for!

Are you serious? I mean, is this really possible? Or are you just having a leg-pull on us?
My best present was (!) an Amazon gift card. Which I plan to use on myself, thank you very much! :-)
I'm so thankful for all the wonderful things I received this Christmas. Some of my absolute favorites are a guardian angel figurine, cat picture frame, a pair of cozy gloves, and my very own Jane Austen Action Figure complete with Writing Desk and Quill!
Oh, Isabel - I have the Jane Austen action figure!
My best pressie was a new macbook, which I technically bought for myself. But hey. Really, my family was just into togetherness this year - we kept the presents focused on the kids and didn't exchange too much between adults. My mom did get me this really cool book called "Other People's Love Letters". It's awesome.
Happy Holidays to the Mavens!
Carrie, I was fortunate! I got to see my entire family at one time, which was my biggest Wish. Awww.
Bill, yes, that's absolutely true. Go to Amazon, click Wish Lists, and then enter the full name of the person you're searching for. It's like wedding registration for single people.
Have fun spending your gift card! I'd say that's a very appropriate gift. Someone knows you!
Isabel, sooooooooo nice to have you back!!!!!! We missed you!
Tessa, I think a present to yourself totally counts. Glad to hear all the little Darelings had a great Christmas, too.
Other People's Love Letters sounds like a great read. You'll have to tell us how it goes. And Isabel and Tessa, I, too, want a JA action figure! Will have to add that to the list...
My favorite gift was a GPS from my father...for the person with the worst sense of direction ON THE PLANET, it was the perfect gift. Of course, sitting in front of the PC all day will still occur, but should I now venture out, I will get home quicker!
Tessa, isn't the JA action figure the coolest thing? BTW, congrats on your first sale! :)
Isabel, sooooooooo nice to have you back!!!!!! We missed you!
I've missed all of you guys too! I'm so happy to be back and writing. :)
I got an Ipod!! Yay! I realize I'm the last person in this century to get one.
